Description
Summary:For the first time in more than thirty years the issue of interracial sexual contact as such has been raised in public debate. Ever since the introduction of the Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act in 1949 and the consequential tightening up by means of article 16 of the Immorality Act in 1957 occasional skirmishes on the issue have taken place. But they have never reached the level of a comprehensive, public reassessment of the fundamental aspects of the issue. Now, however, it seems that the time for such a debate has come. It is hoped that this article may contribute to the debate in a responsible way.
