Description
Summary:This paper intends to explore transversally the three blocks of the Hebrew canon (Prologue of Sirach 1,8,23) in order to focus on different models of kingship. We will have the opportunity to appreciate the acute and constant critical sense of the biblical tradition towards any exclusive absolutization of power, emanating from a small collection of texts relating to the royal figure, primarily contemplated per se - in the Torah and in the Prophets - as a cipher of power, and subsequently as a comprehensive anthropological paradigm - in the Sapiential Books. The emerging trend will be a humanization of power.
