Description
Summary:The anthroponymy of the people of Akhmim is often quite specific. Among the local anthroponyms is one formed with the name of Horus followed by an epithet of uncertain reading. This short note aims at reviewing the evidence in order to decide between the standard reading, Ḥr-Rsn.t and a more recent, but as yet unproven, interpretation, Ḥr-nswt . A list of individuals bearing this name is also attached.
