Summary: | This article resumes how an introductory seminar course has been shaped during the last decades while the number of methods increased. It emphasizes the change in linguistics and literary studies. The main concern lies on the inclusion of a hermeneutical reflection in an introductory seminar course. Manfred Oeming’s »hermeneutical square« offers a helpful model by which the student in his religious and social environment is brought into focus. Existential interpretation, confessional exegesis, evangelical positions and the relationship to Jewish exegesis as well as the tension between the interests of both the church and university are enlarged on. Finally, a suggestion is made how an introductory seminar course can be hold and an exegetical thesis can be written. |
