ΕΠΟΤΙΣΘΗΜΕΝ (I Corinthians 12. 13)

When Paul writes about the imparting of the holy Spirit, he normally uses quite ordinary verbs: God gives (δÍωμι, Rom. 5. 5), we receive (λαβάνω, Rom. 8. 15). But in I Cor. 12. 13 he uses an unusual, rather surprising word:That one holy Spirit was poured out for all of us to drink (NEB).
